Traffic was horrible with the snowstorm the night prior and I had time to spare so I called my mother on my drive into work. I told her how I felt like my life wasn't like I hoped it to be. She did what all mothers do and put me at ease. We chatted briefly while I turned the corner and saw the most brilliant light I had ever seen.

A slight head turn to the right and my breath was taken away by the sight before me. All of a sudden, all my worries faded and excitement filled my heart. An opportunity to take an amazing photo....

Sundogs are commonly made by the refraction of light from plate-shaped hexagonal ice crystals in high and cold cirrus clouds or, during very cold weather, these ice crystals are called diamond dust, and drift in the air at low levels.
